Ricky Ross celebrates the songwriting, music and influence of Merle Haggard with contributions from Sturgill Simpson and Marty Stuart, plus an archive Suzy Bogguss session.

Celebrating the song-writing, music and influence of Merle Haggard on what would have been his 80th birthday. He was an influential country music singer-songwriter from California who helped create the Bakersfield Sound.

Also featuring Marty Stuart and Sturgill Simpson who describe their friendship with Merle. Willy Vlautin from Richmond Fontaine reveals how he discovered Merle Haggard's music. Sam Outlaw covers one of Merle's most loved songs. Plus hear an archive session from Nashville singer-songwriter Suzy Bogguss who recorded a whole album of Merle Haggard songs in 2014 called Lucky. You'll also hear extracts from Merle's first ever interview recorded for the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ, with David Allan in 1976.
