#10LONGyearsofkeaveny

Shaun Keaveny presents live from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Maida Vale studios where Maximo Park play live as he celebrates his seemingly endless tenure as breakfast host. #10LONGyearsofkeaveny.

Back in 2007, a young broadcasting whippersnapper opened up the mic on his first day hosting the 6Music Breakfast Show. No one, Shaun included, expected him to last long. Many assumed his was just a stop gap until Danny Wallace became available. Somehow, 10 years down the line, Shaun is still here and still presenting the 6Music Breakfast Show. In those intervening years, that nascent presenter has grown and developed into one of the most respected voices on National, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, Digital, Music radio.

After 5 years he claimed he couldn't do any more.

Now, with 10 years under his belt Shaun hosts a special programme live from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Maida Vale studios as friends of the show Maximo Park play live during the final hour of the show, dubbed The Kate Moss hour after the British icon once told Grazia magazine that she always listens to the final hour of Shaun's show.
We celebrate Shaun's seemingly endless tenure as breakfast show host with some special guests, including friend of the show Brian Eno who has promised to bring cake and Holloyoaks' Alex Carter - the programme's first 'celebrity fan' - who joins to pay tribute to the presenter The Guardian once said of...."you never feel like Keaveny's playing a character, unlike some breakfast Djs, and most importantly of all, he doesn't try to pretend it's great to be up and about at 7am"

On top of this, some well known names will be recording messages and we delve into the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's archives to find the recording of Shaun's second ever breakfast show. We tried to find his first breakfast show, but ironically it's been deleted!
