With Tinariwen
Mary Anne finds out about desert blues music and why it is important from Tuareg guitar band Tinariwen.
Mary Anne is joined by "soul rebels" Tinariwen from the Southern Sahara desert.
The band, who formed in Libya in 1979 while exiled from the desert of northern Mali, talk to us about what desert blues music means to them and their people, in 2017.
Expect to hear brand new music from the Tuareg artists' seventh album 'Elwan', plus tunes from artists who influenced them in their early days, and also fans of the band, including Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Brian Eno and Radiohead.
