International Women's Day Special

Fiona Talkington presents adventurous music by female composers with the help of guest selectors: cult composer and lyricist Annette Peacock and emerging composer Kerry Andrew.

Fiona Talkington presents adventurous music by female composers with the help of guest selectors: cult composer, arranger, producer, lyricist, singer and keyboardist Annette Peacock and rising composer Kerry Andrew.

Studio guest Annette Peacock is a distinctive figure in music. Emerging from the New York avant-garde of the 1960s, she was an early adopter of the MOOG synthesizer, an ECM recording artist and an influential composer whose songs were later recorded by artists including David Bowie, Brian Eno, Jaco Pastorius and Pat Metheny. She joins Fiona to share some of her favourite music by female composers.

Kerry Andrew is a London-based composer who specialises in experimental vocal and choral music, music-theatre and community music. For International Women's Day she contributes a Late Junction Mixtape, a 25-minute unbroken mix of music by "Vocal Women".

Produced by Joby Waldman for Reduced Listening.
