Pattie Boyd, George Harrison, Eric Clapton

The definition of a muse is a: "Woman or force, who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist". Jo Wood will reveal the reasons behind some of the most iconic pop songs.

Jo Wood will guide us through the inspirations behind some of the most iconic songs ever written. After all, who wouldn't want to boast about being the source of "Something" by George Harrison, Eric Clapton's "Layla" and "Wonderful Tonight" all created for the "Queen of Muses" model Pattie Boyd. We'll hear from "The King" of creative compositions Neil Sedaka, everyone knows that "Oh Carol" was written for this then girlfriend Carol King but did you know that he penned the powerful and moving "The Immigrant" about John Lennon's refusal into America? and the Mississippi River must be "The Prince of Places", with tracks like "Old Man River" and "Black Water". Jo was a former muse herself and she'll reveal how her boyfriend at the time, The Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood, wrote "Josephine" although we may not be able to play it out in its entirety. We'll look at all aspects of love from unrequited, obsessional, familial even endless love. However, a muse can come from a newspaper story like Janis Ian's "At Seventeen", a painting "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" or even a book title think of "Wild Boys" by Duran Duran. The composer is in constant search for a spark to ignite his creativity and Jo Wood will share some of those, to muse also means to consider something thoughtfully you can't muse in 5 seconds, luckily Jo Wood is here for the next hour and at the same time next week, with some well and lesser known stories behind the songs.
