Researchers have identified traces of what they believe is the earliest known prehistoric ancestor of humans,Ìýa microscopic, bag-like sea creature that lived about 540 million years ago. The creature has been named Saccorhytus. Professor Simon Conway Morris is from St John’s College Cambridge and author of the research paper.
