More about the programme
A quiet revolution is stealthily transforming Wales as roadside cabinets mushroom across the country bringing fibre-optic cables and improved internet speeds to homes and businesses.
By the end of this year around 95% of Welsh premises should be able to benefit from superfast broadband.Â
Now the focus is turning to finishing the job and boosting speeds to the one in twenty properties remaining in the slow lane of the information superhighway.Â
A further £80 million of public money is to go into completing the roll-out of superfast broadband across the whole of Wales by 2020.Â
But will that extra injection of cash be enough to deliver improved broadband speeds to all that want it?
Kayley Thomas finds out how far down the road Wales is to superfast broadband for all and hear from digital haves and have-nots about the need for speed.
