Amber Riley, IUDs, Tax, Craft

Programme that offers a female perspective on the world. Amber Riley on playing Effie White in the West End musical Dreamgirls, and women trailblazers in the craft world.

US actress and singer Amber Riley joins Jenni to talk about her role as Effie White in the West End musical Dreamgirls and being a judge on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One's talent show Let it Shine.

From April 2017 families with more than two children will no longer be able to claim tax credit on third and subsequent children. An exception will be made for third children born as a result of rape. Jenni discusses the impact of this change with Sarah Champion, MP for Rotherham and Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities and Sarah Green, Co-Director of End Violence Against Women.

Planned Parenthood, the American health care provider, has reported a sharp increase in the number of women seeking IUDs (the coil) in the week following President Trump's election. Jenni discusses the reasons why this method of contraceptive is proving so popular.

Who are the women trailblazers in the craft world? As a new exhibition 'Entangled: Threads and Making,' opens at the Turner Contemporary in Margate, Jenni talks to its curator Karen Wright and Ann Coxon, curator at the Tate Modern, about the women who led the introduction of craft into art and influenced other makers and artists.
