A Late Junction Special with Richard Dawson

Folk musician Richard Dawson is the guest presenter in a special edition. With church organ music, a pianola programmed by prime numbers and Lol Coxhill's take on The Beatles.

In the lead up to Christmas Geordie avant-folk performer and raconteur Richard Dawson presents a special edition of Late Junction. Dawson is a cult musician with an idiosyncratic take on the everyday. Interested by the idea of the shamanic nature of music, Dawson lets us in on a world populated by player pianos programmed by prime numbers, Inuit hunters doing walrus imitations, mangled speak and spell machines and free improviser Lol Coxhill taking on the Beatles. Expect an hour and a half of oddities from the depths of Dawson's mind along with some surprising analogies between New Zealand and Newcastle's underground music scene
