Episode 3

Tha Donaidh MacAoidh a' coinneachadh nan gaisgich a tha a' seasamh ris an droch shìde. Donnie Mackay meets the heroes who take on extreme weather.

Ann am prògram na seachdain seo, cha mhòr nach eil Donaidh MacAoidh air a leagail le neart na gaoithe ann an Uibhist a Deas, agus gèile aig Forsa 12 a' sguabadh tro Innse Gall. Chan urrainn dhan einnseanair aig SSEN, Ailean Dòmhnallach an obair càraidh a bha e am beachd a dhèanamh air a' phrìomh loidhne dealan a dhèanamh, ach tha e fhathast a-muigh a' lorg feuch a bheil dad ceàrr.

Tha Donaidh cuideachd còmhla ri luchd-obrach cùram-dachaigh, Criosaidh NicRath ann an Steòrnabhagh agus Flòraidh NicDhòmhnaill ann an Uibhist. Bidh an dithis aca a' dol a-mach anns a h-uile seòrsa sìde gus cùram a thoirt do sheann daoine, agus tha iad sin gu math taingeil às an t-seirbheis a tha iad a' faighinn. Agus air an Loch Bhrùsda aig CalMac, tha na sgiobairean, Donnchadh MacGaughan agus Iain Aonghas MacEanraig a' mìneachadh cho cunnartach 's a dh'fhaodas an turas bho na Hearadh gu Beàrnaraigh a bhith ann an droch shìde.

Donnie Mackay is almost blown off his feet in South Uist, as a Force 12 gale passes through
the Hebrides. SSEN engineer Allan MacDonald is unable to make the repairs he's planned to the main electricity line, but he's still out checking for any faults.

Donnie also joins home care workers Chrissie Macrae in Stornoway and Flora MacDonald in Uist. Both regularly brave the elements to visit their elderly clients, who appreciate the service they provide.

And on Calmac's Loch Bhrusda, skippers Duncan MacGaugan and John Angus Henderson explain just how treacherous the crossing from Harris to Berneray can be in bad weather.
