Episode 4
Phil Rickman explores the sometimes comical world of animal stories for adults and talks to authors Jilly Cooper, Lynne Truss and Nick Perry about their new books.
The fur and feathers are sure to fly this week as Phil Rickman explores the sometimes comical world of animal stories for adults. Jilly Cooper talks about her recent novel Mount featuring her highly sexed anti-hero Rupert Campbell-Black and an even more highly-sexed stallion called Love Rat. Author and journalist Lynne Truss (Eats Shoots and Leaves) talks about the Lunar Cats - a novel featuring a learned society of evil talking cats. Nick Perry has written an hilarious memoir about organic upland hill-farming in Caernarfon during the early 1970s. With absolutely no knowledge of farming, and a healthy appetite for rock music and cannabis, Nick ventured into the world of organic pig production, to the astonishment of his hard-bitten neighbours.
