CMA Awards Highlights 2016

Broadcasting live from Nashville's Music Row, Bob Harris presents highlights of the annual Country Music Association Awards in this, their 50th year.

Bob Harris presents highlights of the annual Country Music Association Awards in this, their 50th year. He broadcasts live from Music Row in Nashville and looks back on the spectacular 50th birthday celebrations held at Music City's Bridgestone Arena.

This year's nominations are dominated by country rock favourite Eric Church, rising star Maren Morris, and soulful traditionalist Chris Stapleton. In this two-hour show Bob presents a round-up of the winners, best performances (from artists including Garth Brooks with Trisha Yearwood, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, and Kacey Musgraves) and backstage interviews.

This show is the finale to a week of Country music programmes on Radio 2, including a look back at some of the best live performances from five decades of CMA awards and a three-hour live show presented by Patrick Kielty on the day of the awards, in which he speaks to some of this year's nominees, and important figures from 50 years of CMA awards history. He's also joined by a resident house band who provide the soundtrack to the show, and Patrick plays some the hottest new music coming out of Nashville.
