A gay man from west London has won a landmark legal battle against the Metropolitan Police after the force admitted it failed properly to investigate an allegation that he'd been subjected to homophobic abuse. David Cary sued the Met for discrimination on the basis of his sexual orientation.

Netflix’s new £100 million series, ‘The Crown’, will be released this Friday on the streaming service.  The series, over the course of six expected series, will cover Elizabeth II’s entire reign, starting from the age of 25. Jared Harris plays King George VI in the series.

The ‘Pride of Britain’ awards air on ITV this evening at 8pm, but the ceremony itself actually took place last night. The winner of the Emergency Services Award is London’s Air Ambulance team, which developed a pioneering new procedure to stop accident victims bleeding to death. Dr Simon Walsh is a flight physician for London Air Ambulance.
