Environmental Damage - The A48 is set to be closed in both directions to Carmarthen this weekend following the from a pipeline owned by Valero into Nant Pibwr near Nantycaws, last week. An investigation will get underway into why more than 140,000 litres of oil leaked into a river, killing about 100 fish and causing untold damage to the environment.

Lugworms - volunteers are needed to survey their local beaches on the spring tides this October through until mid November as part of "Spermwatch" - a project to help discover the secret life of Lugworms. Further information and details on how to volunteer are

Otters - over the summer months a group of volunteers went out in search of otters - or at least evidence of them. They surveyed around 70 river sites, mostly in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion as part of the . The surveys are a repeat of ones carried out back in the 1980s and nineties to investigate if otter diet has changed over the past 30 years. Rachael Garside has been out searching for Otters and discovers more in the laboratories.
