Dougie Vipond presents live coverage of the 2016 Great Scottish Run from George Square in the heart of Glasgow. Now firmly established as Scotland's leading half marathon, the men's race will feature Glasgow's Olympic heroes Callum Hawkins and Tsegai Tewelde, who return to face the 2015 champion Glasgow Commonwealth Games gold-medallist, Moses Kipsiro of Uganda.
There is real quality in the women's event too, with three-time Olympic champion and nine-time world champion Tirunesh Dibaba heading the field, where she faces stiff competition from Kenya's Betsy Saina.
Also joining Dougie will be a host of Scotland's Olympic and Paralympic athletes as they reflect on a fantastic summer of sport. Over 20,000 will take part across a weekend of activity in and around the city centre, the 13.1-mile half-marathon course taking in the sights of George Square, Pollock Park and The Hydro before finishing up in the picturesque surrounds of Glasgow Green.
Amongst those masses, there are thousands of stories from those running for their own particular personal reasons, and we'll hear from them. Joining Dougie will be reporter David Currie.
