Blackberry and Apple Bake

Ingredients

200g butter, softened

150g caster sugar

2 pinches of ground cinnamon

300g cooking apples, peeled, cored and thickly sliced

150g blackberries

2 eggs

120g ground almonds

Method

Preheat the oven to 160C/325F/Gas3.

Press 80g of the soft butter evenly out over the base of a pie dish, about 22cm square.Μύ

Pour 60g of the sugar and the ground cinnamon over the butter to cover and give it a light shake to create an even layer.

Arrange the apple slices in an overlapping layer to cover the base.Μύ

Sprinkle the blackberries over the apples and set aside.

Beat the remaining 120g soft butter and the remaining 90g sugar together until pale and creamy.Μύ

Beat in the eggs, one at a time.Μύ

Mix in the ground almonds, then spread the mixture over the apple and berries.

Bake for 55-60 mins.Μύ Leave to sit for 10 mins before serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
