Borealis Festival 2016

World premieres by Sigurd Fischer Olsen and Santiago Diez-Fischer performed at the 2016 Borealis fetival. Plus Jennifer Walshe's manifesto on composition The New Discipline.

Sara Mohr-Pietsch presents music from the Norwegian experimental music festival Borealis.

For five days each March, the composers, sound artists, improvisers and musicians of Borealis take over Bergen's art galleries, concert halls and warehouse spaces and 'rearrange the furniture of the musical world'. Pushing the settees around in tonight's programme are Norwegian Sigurd Fischer Olsen and Argentinian Santiago DΓ­ez-Fischer. They introduce their world premieres in conversation with Sara Mohr-Pietsch, who also talks to composer and artist Jennifer Walshe about her manifesto for a new school of composition, 'The New Discipline'.
