Two-time Olympic gold medal winning boxer Nicola Adams, Eimear McBride, author of A Girl Is A Half-Formed Thing, on her new novel, 150 years of Barnardos, and new zika advice.
Two time Olympic gold medal winning boxer Nicola Adams - she became the first female Olympic boxing champion at the London 2012 games and then successfully retained her flyweight title in Rio. Jenni talks to Nicola about her Olympics experiences, what she plans next, and the future of women's boxing.
Plus Eimear McBride. Her debut novel, A Girl Is A Half Formed Thing, won the Baileys Prize For Women's Fiction. Now she joins us to talk about her new novel, The Lesser Bohemians.
150 years of Barnardo's - the children's charity is celebrating by releasing previously unseen archive material showing the lives of the first fostered children in 1887, during the early days of their pioneering work. Barnardo's Manager of Heritage and History, Sara Clarke, describes the beginnings of fostering, and Brenda Farrell, Head of Fostering and Adoption, explains foster care today.
And the zika virus. As the World Health Organisation strengthens their guidance on the virus, WHO Epidemiologist Dr Colleen Acosta tells us why and shares their most up to date advice.
