17th-Century Cooking

Clare English visits a 17th-century cooking workshop in Larkhall and hears how apples where used in cookery in the past.

Clare English takes a step back in time to hear about the history of the Clyde and Avon Valley Orchards which made up the largest area of commercial fruit production in Scotland. Heritage guide Karen McCusker does some 17th century cooking where she explores the way in which apples were used in cooking during that time. Also, Duncan Arthur from Clyde Valley Orchards gives Robbie Armstrong a tour round one of the several orchards that have been recently restored in the Clyde Valley.
