Music in Time: Renaissance
Rob places Music in Time, turning the spotlight on the Renaissance era as he examines how the publication of polyphonic music helped to advance the career and fame of TomΓ΅s Luis de Victoria, spreading his name, and his glorious music, beyond his native Spain.
10:45am
Rob features the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ National Orchestra of Wales, who will be playing music by BartΓ³k, Malcolm Hayes and DvorΓ΅k in tonight's Prom. This morning Rob shares their interpretation of Stravinsky's Scherzo Fantastique, the sort of narrative repertoire that the orchestra excels in. Conductor Thierry Fischer draws kaleidoscopic colours from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ NOW in this late-Romantic showpiece.
