Clueless as a feminist classic, Roisin Murphy, The Good Parliament Guide

Is Clueless a feminist classic? We discuss the films we return to time and again. Gemma talks to Shappi Korshandi about her new book Nina Is Not OK and to singer Roisin Murphy.

This summer we celebrate the films we can depend on in uncertain times: today journalists Harriet Hall and Alice Vincent discuss Clueless. Is Cher Hororwitz a feminist icon? Totally? Or, as if?

The Good Parliament is a new 56 page guide, attempting to make it a more inclusive and diverse place to work. The 43 main recommendations range from suggesting Select Committees hear from a diverse range of witnesses, to having more portraits of women on the walls. However, much of the media's attention has focused on the suggestion women MPs be allowed to breastfeed in the Commons and the need for gender neutral toilets. Jo Swinson, Director of Equal Power Consulting and an MP for nearly a decade talks to Gemma Cairney.

Emma Barnett gets a sneak preview of the Royal Collection Trust exhibitions of the queen's clothing. Today we discuss the dress of diplomacy with the critic and fashion philosopher, Dr Shahidha Bari, and Senior Curator at the Royal Collection Caroline de Guitaut.

Roisin Murphy became a solo artist in 2005 and last year returned after an eight year break with the strangely titled Hairless Toys - which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. She's quickly followed it up with another unusually titled album - Take Her Up To Monto - and will be playing a live gig at Shakespeare's Globe in London in August. Roisin joins Gemma to discuss her new solo project.

And comedian Shappi Khorsandi joins Gemma to talk about her debut novel, Nina is Not Okay.

Presenter: Gemma Cairney
Producer: Laura Northedge.
