Researchers say that they have found the first clear evidence that the thinning of the ozone layer above Antarctica is starting to heal. Stoke-on-Trent North Labour MP Ruth Smeeth has called on leader Jeremy Corbyn to "resign immediately" for his "catastrophic failure of leadership" in not tackling a comment made to her during the unveiling of a report into anti-Semitism in the party last week. Adnan Syed - a convicted murderer whose case was featured in hugely popular podcast Serial – is to receive a new trial. Justin George, the Baltimore Sun reporter who worked on the podcast and appeared in one of the episodes of Serial, has spoken to the Serial team and Adnan Syed’s family.

Michael Gove’s statement on choosing to run for the Conservative Party leadership  followed the apparent leaking of an email from his wife, journalist Sarah Vine, in which she warned her husband of the risks of backing Boris Johnson for the leadership without ‘assurances’. Linda MacDougall is a journalist and TV producer and wife of former Labour MP Austin Mitchell and Robert Icke is a theatre writer and director. Â
