On July 1, 1916, 100,000 British troops went 'over the top' but almost a fifth were killed. We speak to Rob, who conceived the 19240 Shrouds of the Somme project and Commodore Jake Moores who is Chair of the 19240 Shrouds of the Somme Committee and previously spent 37 years in the Navy.
