Episode 1
Sally Magnusson visits Henry Rankin, a retired police officer with dementia, to bring back memories for him and his family using music, photohraphs and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ clips.
In this new series, Radio Scotland creates a specially chosen selection of music, photos, and clips from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ programmes to evoke someone's life story. Today, Sally Magnusson visits Henry Rankin at his home in Glasgow, where along with his wife Anne and daughter Shona, they are transported back to their favourite 1980s Saturday night entertainment. Henry and Anne hear music with romantic overtones, and Henry recalls the first programme he ever watched on television as a boy. These memories are particularly precious because Henry has vascular dementia, and the family want to celebrate and preserve Henry's happiest moments.
