This week, Mark speaks to musician and producer John McCusker about his 25 years in music, and his new album.

McCusker, from North Lanarkshire, is a multi-instrumentalist known for his work with the Battlefield Band, Kate Rusby, Heidi Talbot and Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler.

Known for his ability to unite musicians from diverse musical backgrounds, John has worked with rock acts like Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene, Teenage Fanclub and Idlewild, as well as Blur guitarist Graham Coxon. Michael McGoldrick, John Doyle, Kris Drever and Eddi Reader have also collaborated with John on many occasions. His TV and film soundtrack work includes Billy Connolly's World Tour of New Zealand and Jennifer Saunders' sitcom, Jam & Jerusalem.

His new John McCusker Band features Adam Holmes (Rura), Andy Cutting and Ewan Vernal.
