The Tigers of Butetown
Mim Shaikh explores Butetown, one of Cardiff's youngest and most diverse areas, with the help of local football club Tiger Bay.
Butetown in Cardiff is one of the city's youngest and most diverse areas. In fact Tiger Bay youth, a community based football club there, has players from more than 20 different nationalities playing for them.
Set up just four years ago they already have four teams, all run by volunteers, and dream of developing a player from the area who goes on to play for Wales. In this documentary for Radio 1 and 1Xtra Stories, Mim Shaikh explores Butetown through the eyes of the Tiger Bay youth team players. Exploring their lives and getting to know how they feel about issues relating to housing, multiculturalism and political engagement.
