Maria Toorpakai’s options as a young girl were severely limited and determined by the traditions of her culture in the tribal region of Pakistan. Her father was passionate about improving his family’s chances in the world and educated his daughter whilst also supporting her sporting ambitions.  Despite threats from the Taliban, she’s risked her life for her sport and talks to Clare about her extraordinary experiences.
