You might have a brilliant idea, a marvellous theory or some remarkable research results. But if you can't convey your work in a clear and engaging way, you'll struggle to capture an audience. And it can be all uphill for scientists and engineers, who might not see communication as a strength. Fortunately, there are some great projects in Wales to help get the message across.
On Science Cafe this week, Adam talks to the team behing FameLab, a science communication competition where contestants have just 3 minutes convery a scientific concept of their choice. It certainly helps to concentrate the mind! You can catch the regional heat at Techniquest in Cardiff on Thursday, 25th February.
And we'll hear too from Dr Andy Williams, a lecturer at Cardiff University, who has looked at some of the pitfalls in modern-day science journalism.  Â
