In More Detail...........
Animals hurt on our roads, stranded by extreme weather, injured, abandoned or in danger - the number one call the RSPCA receive from members of the public is about wildlife. They have four centres in the UK dedicated to wildlife dealing with anything from swans, otters, bats to rabbits. At this time of year at the , in Taunton they're busy caring for struggling hedgehogs and looking forward to releasing seal pups back into the seas. Many of these seals were rescued on the Welsh coast, brought in by RSPCA officers working in Wales, as it's here they can get the specialist care they need for treating the seals and also other wildlife cases. Rachael Garside visits the centre and meets some of the interesting patients.
And if you find an animal in distress call the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999
