A spiritual comment and prayer to begin the day with the Reverend Richard Littledale.

Good morning. Just the other day I was reading the story of a young Swedish man who couldn’t fit his coffee table in the back of his car. In desperation, he removed the legs, and became the founder of a global brand in self-assembly furniture. Another young man, this time a Ukrainian, found that he couldn’t afford the phone charges to call his father back home. Out of his frustration the idea of an instant messaging service was born, which is now in use on millions of smartphones worldwide. When you have a good idea, it can be like tipping the first in a long line of dominoes over – and watching them fall.
One day towards the end of last year, I went to bed with the idea for a new children’s story buzzing around my head like an insistent fly. I made some notes, got up early, and wrote the whole thing down. That is the moment when the dominoes started to fall. A producer said he’d like to help me record it, his friend the composer said he would like to write some music for it, and everything started coming together. I am more convinced than ever that a good idea brings out the very best in people . Egos are set aside, diaries become more flexible than ever you would have thought – and mountains really can be moved.
Dear God – today, may I find a means to help a good idea on its way. Amen
