London Contemporary Music Festival
Ivan Hewett introduces recordings from the London Contemporary Music Festival, plus a recording of pianist John Snijders in the world premiere of The Red Studio by Christopher Fox.
Ivan Hewett introduces recordings from last month's London Contemporary Music Festival, in conversation with two of the event's directors Igor Toronyi-Lalic and Sam Mackay. And in a recording made specially for Hear and Now, pianist John Snijders performs the world premiere of The Red Studio by Christopher Fox, a work which explores the lost art of "preluding", when pianists would improvise introductions to, and in between, the different works in a concert.
