Stacey struggles to come to terms with her discovery. Mick grows concerned about Linda's behaviour, but will she admit the truth to what's really going on?
Jean explains that Stacy’s dad told her about this other family and that she had to share him with another woman. He wrote all of his children letters so that they would know everything. Kush makes to leave but Martin asks him to stay. Jean says that the key was to be given to Stacey when she turned 21 but he died and there was no key; Sean must have taken it. Stacey assumes that he was the one that emptied the box but Jean is adamant that he didn’t know enough to find out what the key opened. Stacey doesn’t understand why the box is empty and Jean suggests that the other woman might have had a key. She asks Stacey not to be angry with her father for what he did. He would say he was doing building jobs in Blackpool but he was with her. Once he went for a month and Jean told Stacey that he was in Germany.
Stacey asks about his other children but Jean can’t handle the subject and locks herself in the bathroom. Eventually she lets Stacey in and explains why she never told her the truth. Stacey asks if she ever met the woman and Jean says that she arrived at the house months after the funeral looking for answers but Jean sent her away. She walks away when Stacey asks who has been following her. Stacey pushes her for answers and she says that she threw away his letters and ignored him. It dawns on Stacey that he could be her brother. Before she leaves Jean asks Martin to look after Stacey for her and hugs him. Shabnam joins them as Jean and Ollie leave. Shabnam tells Stacey that anyone would be lucky to have her as a sister and that blood is important. Shabnam and Kush stay for lunch as Martin has cooked a turkey and doesn’t want the food to go to waste. Kush approaches Stacey in the bedroom and tells her that what they are doing to Marin is exactly what her dad did. He closes the door and tells Stacey that he wants to come clean, for his son…
Mick apologises to Linda but tells her that if they aren’t getting married he can’t face the family and pretend everything is okay. The family are all sat in the living room happily tucking into Babe’s trifle. Whitney tells Lee she might catch the bouquet at the wedding. Linda sits with them and Babe notices Mick putting on his coat. He says he needs to pop out to sort out the Christmas order. Tina admits to Mick that she has been visiting Shirley and wants her to come to the wedding. He tells her this isn’t the time and heads out leaving Linda feeling uncomfortable. In the hallway Elaine asks Linda if this is all due to the stress of the wedding and tells her she can sort everything out once the nativity is finished.
Mick sits in the car with the engine running unsure what to do. Linda gets in and asks him to stay with her. Elaine tells Nancy that her mum is just overwhelmed with the wedding and worried about Nancy becoming a Muslim. Mick and Linda sit in their bedroom and Nancy wants to be sure they aren’t upset with her. She lets them know that everyone has left. Linda apologises to Mick for the way she has been and he promises that he is going nowhere. She explains how she is feeling and that she is scared of everyone looking at her. She opens up about her bulimia which started when her father died and now she is having the same thoughts and feelings as she did before. Mick tries to understand and comfort her but it becomes clear that it’s about Dean. Later Linda finds Mick in the kitchen and apologises for keeping it secret. Mick confesses that he knew about her bulimia when she was younger and didn’t want to make it worse by confronting it. He apologises for not seeing it this time round and says they will get her professional help. He says he doesn’t need the wedding, she is all he needs. She is determined to go through with it with him by her side.
