Chris Stapleton in Session
Chris Stapleton talks to Bob about his career and performs two songs from his album Traveller.
CMA Awards sensation Chris Stapleton is in session, direct from Nashville, talking to Bob about his astonishing career and performing two songs from his acclaimed Traveller album.
A long serving singer and songwriter Chris Stapleton went into this year's CMA Awards with three nominations - Best New Artist, Best Male Singer and Best Album - on the back of Traveller, a well-received but commercially unremarkable album.
Three hours later he came out having won all three and with a performance with Justin Timberlake under his belt that literally stopped the show. 36 hours after that, when he came into the studio in Nashville to record this session and interview, he had sold over 200,000 records and had rocketed from nowhere to the top of the Billboard charts, in both the specialist and mainstream categories.
You'd be forgiven for thinking he was a literal overnight success then, but in fact Chris has had a long and distinguished career in Nashville, writing hits for Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett among others and fronting bands like The SteelDrivers in his own right.
In this exclusive interview Chris takes Bob though his career and performs two songs with his wife Morgane.
