First Sign of Love
Short films made by unknown Welsh film-makers. A 16-year-old girl with a hearing impairment starts at a new school. Followed by a look at the making of the film.
It's September 1986 and the beginning of term. We follow Megan, a 16-year-old girl with a hearing impairment, on her first few days at a mainstream school, where she meets Jake and his group of friends. At first, she seems like an outsider, but Jake manages to break down the communication barrier so that he can ask her out on a date. First Sign of Love is a film about inclusion, exclusion and communication, in its many forms.
Followed by a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film which is part of the It's My Shout production training scheme.
