Festival of Remembrance 2015
Chris Stuart presents highlights from the Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. With spectacular music from massed military bands.
Chris Stuart presents highlights from the Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall, which - amongst other anniversaries - this year celebrates 200 years of outstanding service and loyalty to the Crown from the Brigade of Gurkhas. The Festival also commemorates the centenary of the Gallipoli Campaign, and the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Veterans and service men and women engaged in current military operations join with the audience at the Royal Albert Hall to give thanks and pay tribute to all who risk their lives in the service of their country. The Festival features spectacular music from massed military bands. The conclusion of the Festival features the service of Remembrance during which thousands of poppies are dropped from the roof of the hall, representing the lives lost in the two great World Wars, and subsequent conflicts.
Producer: Katharine Longworth.
