Clare English and the Kitchen Cafe team investigate the merits of vegan and vegetarian diets, plus they taste test some vegetable juices.
Celebrating the sheer joy of all things foodie!
On the Kitchen Cafe this week Clare English is talking non meat eating as part of Vegetarian Awareness Month. On the programme she'll be joined by Craig Tannock, owner of four vegan cafes in Glasgow's city centre; we'll hear from three builders on a local construction site who took to swapping their lunches in place of some vegan delicacies; Health Educator and food blogger Kellie Anderson will be in charge of listener correspondence as well as telling us how she went from from carnivore to vegan to vegetarian and is now flexitarian! And Nutrional Therapist Karen Scobie will be bringing in a selection of veggie juices for Clare to taste, test and then comment. You have been warned!

As the Kitchen CafΓ© celebrated Vegetarian Awareness Month, Nutritional therapist Karen Scobie offered up some healthy veggie juices for Clare to taste.Μύ Why not them out?
Carrot Apple and Ginger Juice
4 Large Carrots
1 Green Apple
1 inch Ginger
1/4 Lemon - this is optional - good for keeping juice fresh if you are keeping some to use later.
Μύ
Green Juice
1/2 Green Apple
1 Courgette
1 Small piece fennel
1/4 cucumber
2 large leaves of scottish Kale
Small piece of lemon - optional as above
Μύ
Green Smoothie - Good as Snack or on the go breakfast
1 small green apple
1/2 avocado
Juice of 1/4 lemon - preservative
1/2Μύ celery stalk
Small piece of Cucumber
The stalk of the Broccoli
Teaspoon of ginger juice - freshly squeezed.
Place in blender or smoothie maker and blitz.
