Owen Bradley: The Nashville Sound

Ricky Ross celebrates the centenary of country music producer Owen Bradley, who was one of the key people responsible for the Nashville sound.

Record producer Owen Bradley, one of the pioneers of the Nashville sound in country music, was born 100 years ago this week. His new approach to country kept the genre fresh during the 1950s and 1960s. Owen Bradley reinvented old country stars, shaping recordings by Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Ernest Tubb, Kitty Wells and even produced k.d. lang's 1988 album Shadowland.

Tonight Ricky Ross celebrates Owen Bradley's legacy and the impact he made, playing some of the Countrypolitan songs he was responsible for.
