Episode 4

Gareth Thomas trains a group of people to run a marathon. The ladies undertake their final preparations for the half-marathon, and Gareth arranges a party at the rugby club.

Showing as part of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales's Live Longer Wales season.

It's 16 weeks since rugby legend Gareth 'Alfie' Thomas began training the 16 ladies of Deri from scratch to run the Cardiff half-marathon - and now it's race time. The last programme in the series captures the final preparations for the big day, as the ladies get ready to join over 20,000 other entrants at Wales's biggest road race. On the eve of the Cardiff half, with last-minute niggles and injuries mounting amongst his angels, Alfie's arranged a pasta party at Deri rugby club, complete with a moving speech and motivational video to get them psyched up. The whole village will be travelling to the capital to support them and there's a party planned after the race. And in an unexpected twist, one of the ladies has a big surprise in store for everyone. But will they all achieve their goal and make it to the finish line? Expect high emotion and tears - whatever the outcome.
