Lauren is live from Maida Vale and is joined by Mercury Rev.

6 Music Live rolls on to day 4, and today Lauren is joined Maida Vale by other than Mercury Rev. No strangers to the historical corridors of Maida Vale, they've played no less than four John Peel sessions; the first one being back in 1991. We're extremely fortunate to be bringing you live renditions of tracks, both new and classic, from Jonathan Donahue, Grasshopper and the boys. Their 8th album The Light In You has been described as reflecting the core relationship between Jonathan and Grasshopper, best friends since they were teenagers, who accompanied each other through the musical changes, band fractures and breakthroughs that has marked Mercury Rev's career since they emerged with Yerself Is Steam in 1991. And no doubt we'll be hearing again from Mr Shaun Keaveny, who'll be taking a stroll around said corridors. Catch it on 6, ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Red Button and iPlayer.
