Today we're broadcasting from two locations; throughout the show we'll be linking up with Scotland's Book Town, Wigtown, where the annual book festival is in progress.
- We'll be speaking to author Dan Boothby who's written about an unexpected chance to move to Gavin Maxwell's former home. For a man obsessed since childhood with the author of Scottish nature classic Ring of Bright Water, it offered salvation.

-We'll have music from The Bookshop Band who write and perform music inspired by books.

-The National Theatre of Scotland is in town performing a piece of theatre made out of the stories of the people of Wigtown. Director Simon Sharkey and Joyce Cochrane, local cast member join Janice to talk about the experience of making theatre in this way.

-The Midge: Taking inspiration from the renowned New York event The Moth, The Midge is an informal storytelling evening where the festival's authors and audience members share tales from real life on the theme of Lost and Found. We'll get a preview of the night.

The work of the Turner Prize nominees has arrived in Glasgow- what does it mean for the Prize and the city?

And: the Cumnock Tryst music festival is about to begin, helmed by local boy, Artistic Director and acclaimed Scottish composer Sir James MacMillan CBE. Broadcaster Muriel Gray and composer and saxophonist Jay Capperauld describe the charms of this autumnal feast of music.
