The 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain
Live from Biggin Hill, Jeremy Vine, Dermot O'Leary and Sophie Raworth present a concert commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, with a cast led by Simon Callow.
Friday Night Is Music Night commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain from the legendary airfield, Biggin Hill. A stellar cast presents a portrait of the battle in words and music. Actor Simon Callow leads the cast as Winston Churchill, with presenters Jeremy Vine, Dermot O'Leary and Sophie Raworth. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra conducted by Mike Dixon will be joined on stage by the RAF's own big band The Squadronnaires, together with singers Pixie Lott, Shaun Escoffery and the Puppini Sisters. The concert will be shown in cinemas across Great Britain and on Red Button and will include the live start up of one of the most iconic aircraft from the Battle - the Spitfire.
This concert was first broadcast on September 18th, as part of Radio 2's Battle of Britain commemorations.
