Live from Biggin Hill Airport
Jeremy Vine broadcasts live from Biggin Hill Airport in Kent to mark 75 years since the Battle of Britain and to look at the modern-day RAF and consider its future.
75 years on from the Battle of Britain, today we look at the modern-day RAF, and consider the organisation's future.
We're live at Biggin Hill airport in Kent which was a key RAF base during that battle in 1940.
We'll speak to one of the most senior people in the air force - the man responsible for all of its day-to-day operational activity.
We'll discuss whether Britain should be involved in air strikes in Syria, and whether drone warfare is the future.
Politics aside - we'll marvel at a remarkable engineering achievement: the Typhoon fighter jet. One will be landing here live during the programme. We'll meet its pilot and support staff, and hear what happened when the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Sophie Raworth took a flight in one.
We'll also learn more about the men and women who monitor every square inch of Britain's airspace.
And - if you live in a scenic part of the UK like the Welsh valleys - do you love it or hate it when low-flying jets practice overhead?
