Mike Brearley, Former England Cricket Captain
Rob Bonnet speaks to former England cricket captain Mike Brearley, who is widely acknowledged as one of the game's greatest ever captains and is now a psychoanalyst.
Rob Bonnet speaks to former England cricket captain Mike Brearley. Brearley was not an outstanding batsman and didn't bowl a single ball in test cricket, but since leading England to a 3-1 series victory against Australia in 1981 he has been widely acknowledged as one of the game's greatest ever captains. Why? The answer lies in his man management skills, his tactical nous and attention to detail. He was England's 'cerebral captain', so it's no surprise that he subsequently developed a career as a psychoanalyst. Mike Brearley talks to Rob Bonnet about the The Art of Captaincy and current issues in the game.
