From the Edinburgh Festival

Janice Forsyth is joined at Potterrow by Scottish authors Ian Rankin and Val McDermid, plus she hears from singer-songwriter and pianist Joe Stilgoe.

The Janice Forsyth Show's Thursday offering at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Blue Tent promises to brighten up your afternoon whether you're in the audience or listening on the radio! Janice will be talking to not one, but two, of the most the celebrated Scottish Authors of our times: Ian Rankin and Val McDermid!!

She will also hear from an internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter. Joe Stilgoe - Back in Edinburgh this year by popular demand, with 'Songs on Film - The Sequel,' which sees pianist, singer, songwriter and film nerd pay tribute to 100 years of music that aided and abetted the legendary status of Hollywood cinema !

Later she'll hear all about The Other Half" by Mark Billingham & My Darling Clementine - a remarkable joint words and music performance project, woven round an original story, inspired and sound tracked by the music of My Darling Clementine.

We'll also have our usual weekly movie reviews in the company of regular critics, Ian Hoey and Ross Maclean who will discuss 45 Years and Straight Outta Compton.

All that and composer and multi-instrumentalist 'Malcolm Bruce will be performing live - being that his father was in 'Cream', Malcolm knows a thing or two about good music.
