Pavel Kolesnikov, Alec Frank-Gemmill, Benjamin Appl

With Pavel Kolesnikov (piano) playing music by Beethoven and CPE Bach, Alec Frank-Gemmill (horn) in a duo by Adolf von Henselt and Benjamin Appl (baritone) performing Beethoven.

Clemency Burton-Hill presents the second programme in her summer series showcasing the music-making of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ New Generation Artists. Here is the chance to hear a starry line-up of young musicians caught by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ microphones when they are on the brink of glittering international careers. Today the Siberian pianist Pavel Kolesnikov brings his sensitive touch to the improvisatory world of CPE Bach and the lyrical German baritone Benjamin Appl sings one of Beethoven's more extended songs. Also on the bill today, a first performance in modern times of a Duo for horn and piano by the great early-nineteenth-century pianist-composer, Adolf von Henselt.
