Johnnie Walker hears 70s memories from Mavis Staples, known for her work with the group The Staple Singers.

Mavis joined her family's band during the 1950s when she was still at school. The group went on to evolve from gospel singers to one of the leading soul and R&B groups of the seventies. The decade saw them have hits with the likes of "Respect Yourself", "I'll Take You There" and "If You're Ready (Come Go With Me)" as well as perform with The Band at their iconic concert The Last Waltz.

Also on the show, Johnnie digs out some of the best of the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ archive. Plus another listener helps to add a classic seven-inch single into Johnnie's Jukebox.
