Script - Special Ramadan offers
Good morning. Spring sales, summer sales and Christmas sales β we all get caught up in the sales frenzy every season β especially if thereβs some consumer item weβve been waiting for! Need I mention Black Friday? In addition to these sales, Muslims also wait all year long for the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan. This special month of fasting brings with it many blessings and spiritual gifts. It is a month of special offers.
The Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) addressed his companions on the eve of Ramadan telling them that a great and blessed month had arrived. There is one night in this month that carries more reward than the worship of a thousand months. Ramadan is the best time in which to do good deeds as the rewards are multiplied. God says, βThe fasting person has left behind food, drink and desires for My sake. The fast is for me so I will personally reward the fasting person.β The reward for good deeds in Ramadan is multiplied ten times and up to seventy times.
This is no βbuy one get one freeβ offer! Ramadanβs offer of seventy for the price of one canβt be beaten! Some friends of mine queued outside a High Street store all night to get their hands on one well known make of tablet computer. After all, weβre all after that βgood deal!β Yet despite knowing the special offers of Ramadan, sometimes many Muslims miss out, failing to take advantage of the blessed season! (Perhaps standing in sales queues is easier than standing in prayer at night?)
Dear God, enable us to enrich our lives spiritually during your special offer seasons, amin.
