Vincent finds himself torn between Kim and Ronnie, but who will he choose? Roxy reels from her sister's actions.
As the guests in The Albert sing Happy Birthday to Kim, Kim is reeling from what she’s heard from Donna and drags Vincent away. Kim demands to know the state of play between Vincent and Ronnie – Vincent claims he barely knows her and suggests that Donna is just trying to cause trouble. Vincent maintains that he wants to build a family with Kim and Pearl.
Kim appears to relent but quickly makes her excuses and leaves. Roxy desperately tries to persuade Ronnie that they can’t let another man come between them, but Ronnie admits she’s terrified that she’ll end up hating Roxy if she doesn’t leave. When Vincent can’t find Kim back at home, he calls Ronnie to warn her that Kim may be on her way to the hospital, only for Kim to answer Ronnie’s phone.
Kim declares that Ronnie is sleeping with Vincent – Roxy’s taken aback. Kim questions Ronnie, who explains that she met Vincent through the boxing gym; he’s just a business client. When Ronnie swears on Matthew’s life that she’s telling the truth, Kim relents, but ,when she warns Ronnie to stay away from now on, Ronnie purports that it was Vincent doing all the chasing anyway. Having watched Ronnie’s and Kim’s exchange – Roxy’s unimpressed, she nearly gave up her whole life for Ronnie, but it turns out Ronnie’s just as bad. As the sisters argue, and Roxy brings Vincent into question, Ronnie stings Roxy by claiming that the difference between them is that she has some self-control and dignity. An angry Roxy leaves, insinuating that she will inform Charlie about Vincent, but instead, heads to the Vic to drown her sorrows.
Kim finds Vincent outside the Albert and admits that she knows - she was the back up when Ronnie turned him down. Kim hands Vincent back her wedding ring. Back at Patrick’s, Kim vents to Denise - staying with Vincent wouldn’t be worth it. Denise concurs and suggests that she and Patrick are all the family that Pearl needs. Donna finds an angry Vincent and apologises – before feeling incredibly guilty when Vincent admits that he really loves Kim. When Nancy clocks Roxy ignoring a call from Ronnie and Roxy states that she’s going to teach Ronnie a lesson, Nancy reminds her that in family, no-one ever changes; but at the end of the day you’d kill for each other. Vincent hammers on Patrick’s door – Patrick sees him off but not before Vincent shouts that he’ll be waiting outside for Kim, with a kebab.
Kim finds Vincent in the gardens and allows him the chance to explain himself properly. Vincent admits to Kim that he thought he had feelings for Ronnie, but has seen her true colours. Vincent assures Kim that she’s the one who gets him; it’s her he wants. Kim suggests the pair heading inside – Vincent claims he’ll catch her up. A drunk Roxy arrives in Ronnie’s hospital room and Ronnie apologises for her earlier words. Roxy climbs into bed next to Ronnie and assures her that she didn’t tell Charlie anything, and she doesn’t need to worry that she ever will. Vincent knocks on the door of number 23; Charlie answers. Vincent tells Charlie there’s something he needs to know, Ronnie is in love with him...
As Masood arrives back at the house, he’s met by a teary Shabnam; Tamwar has told her his fears that he’s gone to find Jade. Shabnam fumes as Masood attempts to explain – he realised that it was a stupid idea before he did anything. Masood promises Shabnam that he won’t go behind her back again. Shabnam introduces Masood and Carmel. Carmel discusses Kush’s father’s business success, and Masood can’t help but take it personally when Shabnam pointedly states that Carmel has a right to feel proud, she’s worked hard and deserves it.
As Nancy heads home, she suggests to Carmel that she head over to the Vic for a drink – Carmel purports to Masood that the pair of them go and Masood agrees. As Masood and Carmel discuss Shabnam and Kush, Masood opens up about Shbanam’s past – she was rebellious in her teenage years. Masood asks Carmel’s advice – if she had a close family member nearby whom she hadn’t met, would she contact them? Carmel maintains that she would, giving Masood some serious food for thought. As Carmel goes to head off, she shocks Shabnam when she assures her that she won’t judge her – Masood’s told her all about her past. A fuming Shabnam flees upstairs, leaving Masood put out.
