Orienteering
The rural news magazine for those who live and work in the Welsh countryside. Rachael Garside goes orienteering in mid-Wales.
The aim of Orienteering is to navigate in sequence between control points marked on a unique orienteering map and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. It's a great sport for runners, joggers and walkers who want to improve their navigation skills or for anyone who loves the outdoors. Rachael Garside joins the Mid Wales Orienteering club at an event near Dolgellau to navigate the terrain of forest and open, sheep-grazed, fell on the slopes of Gwanas Hill.
