Garden Designer Jo Thompson
Garden designer Jo Thompson has won many medals at Chelsea Flower Show since she first appeared in 2009, last year taking home a coveted gold. And next week she returns to show with a special garden commission which she calls βa retreat from the 21stΒ century.β Inspired by British writers who worked in garden retreats, it will feature an oak-framed writerβs retreat, a natural swimming pool, woodland, tumbling roses and peonies. All of this is being created by her all-female team of planters, enjoying an annual βhorticultural holidayβ volunteering at Chelsea. So, as the builders and planters are hard at work before the gates open next week, Jo Thompson takes a break to talk to Jenni about her garden design, and her gardening life, after recently changing career in 2006 to become one of the countryβs leading garden designers.
